I recently ordered the pre-shave oil and the after shave and hesitated on ordering the soap as I prefer to shave with a shaving cream, or so I thought. The kind folks at Imperial threw in a bar of soap along with a note that said they wanted me to experience their complete shaving system. So I just gave it a whirl and I’m so glad I did. Consider me sold. With a safety razor loaded with a fresh feather blade I’m pretty sure I just gave myself the best shave of my life. Finished it off with the bergamot after shave and now I’m sitting here rubbing my face non-stop. Thanks Imperial. I think I’m done shopping around for shaving products.
I’m a “hard core” traditional wet shaver (soap/cream, badger brush and DE razor) and have never found any of the “artisan” glycerin style soaps (cold pour) to provide quite the lubricity and protection of other traditional creams/milled soaps (Proraso, Trumper, T&H, DR Harris, Castle Forbes, etc) but this soap is different. I don’t know what it is in the formula or production technique but the lather is thick, rich and super emollient/protective. My DE razor glides thru with ease and the skin care afterwards is superb. And if you are at all sensitive to fragrance oils/essential oils this is completely fragrance free. For me this is a “sleeper’ in the Imperial line and not to be missed. It even works well without a brush making it awesome for travel or those who have yet to be sold on the luxury and benefits of a good badger shave brush!!! Just buy it!!!
The above reviewers are right. This soap is amazing! If I’m in a rush in the morning and don’t feel like working up a lather with a traditional shave soap or cream, a few swipes of a wet shave brush on a bar of this incredible glycerine soap does the trick all by itself. Use it for 2 or 3 passes, polish with the lavender shave oil, a splash of bergamot aftershave…perfect.
I ordered this along with the Classic Pomade best money I’ve ever spent.Great face soap, won’t dry your face and leave it feeling tight.My face just feels fresh and clean after I use this soap.Thanks Imperial will definitely buy again.
This product is the best product out there. From cleaning my face to using my beaver brush to lather up, this product works just like it says. Blade just slides no irritation and my face feels so good after. Another must have product, all I’m missing in the bundle is the pre-shave oil, this will be my next purchase, must have gentlemen!
About a week ago my bf had me try the Glycerin Soap Bar and since then I have been washing my face day/night and and I can say I have found a Great Acne soap of all my years of searching! I know Proactive didn’t do anything for me. Thank you Imperial!!!!!
I have SUPER SENSITIVE skin, and I shave my legs with Imperial’s Glycerin Shave/Face Soap. If you rub the bar on a loofa, it lathers up so thick and foamy that shaving is really easy. My legs are softer and smoother for sure. They don’t feel dry/irritated after I get out of the shower. Definitely try it with a loofa, ladies!
Has quickly become my favorite face soap! Even better if I slap on some of Imperial’s pre-shave oil and lather up the soap for my Merkur razor!
Just wanted to let you know, I stopped into an Art of Shaving store the other day and let them set me up with the whole shaving enchilada… oil, cream, brush, after shave… and it couldn’t hold a candle (or razor) to just simply using your glycerin soap. Not to mention the Bergamot after-shave is probably my favorite grooming product of all time.
